Microsoft Build 2018 : Expected announcements for users, developers

Microsoft will kick off Microsoft Build 2018 on 7th May 2018, the three-day program will end on 9th May 2018. For addressing both online and in-person attendees, Microsoft has lined up the speaker from a variety of background. The list of speakers says that one can one can expect to see things ranging from Windows to Azure to Artificial Intelligence.

AI grabbing big focuses


Microsoft has been bold about throwing AI in the past few years, We can expect to hear a lot about Windows ML, The machine learning platform that came with Windows 10 updated last month, at Microsoft Build.
Windows ML can take advantage of hardware according to GPU’s. The Microsoft hasn’t used AI as a marketing bait but made huge strides in bringing AI to its consumer products.
Cortana is getting smarter being more useful on a desktop than Siri. AI is also the core of translator APP.

Windows


Microsoft won’t rest after Windows 10, Microsoft just rolled out a new update for Windows 10 devices. However, this doesn’t stop the company from talking about the future of Windows and the upcoming Redstone 5 release.
Microsoft is expected to talk more about Cloud Clipboard, Windows Sets, and Fluent design. The company will also talk about how the new features can benefit developer and integrated them into their apps.
Microsoft is also expected to shed some light on the Windows 10 Mobile situation. However, you should not expect anything related to hardware from the conference.
Microsoft has committed to updating the OS frequently, instead of the annual (or even longer) updates from past versions of Windows. We can also witness the first showcase of Windows Sets on stage.

Windows Mixed Reality


To make Mixed reality technology accessible for everyone, Microsoft might target Mixed-reality as a platform that will interest the hit the developers and encourage them to integrate their app with the technology.
Microsoft is also expected to share hardware plans and might showcase new or prototypes they are working on and what it will mean to the developers. However, it is unlikely that the company will launch or show HoloLens 2.

AZURE talks

Microsoft has been dominating the Enterprise Cloud Workspace. The company will showcase its plans for the future at the conference. Also, Microsoft is expected to talk more about Azure Cosmos DB which was recently announced.
Apart from this, the first Keynote will be delivered by Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella so you can expect some Cloud-related announcements.
